I used this image to create a less important image , i cropped the background out to use only the figure of the person.

This image was used as my main image for the magazine , i re-touched the photo to give the photo a particular autumn look to match.

This image was used on the contents page of my magazine , i cropped the backgrounf out to leave the figures to be added to a chosen background.

Conclusion to Questionnaire

Looking at my questionnaire results most people preferred rock and indie music genres. Which helps considerably as I'm creating a music magazine in that genre of music rock/punk , many of the people interviewed read Kerrang and NME. One of the questions i asked was (Do you feel like you can be successful , how far will you go? - Yes if i tried hard enough) This shows the psychographic profiles of belonger and achiever are amongst the people I interviewed. I also researched into family background and professions , most people's parents had an NRS social grade of B and C1

Introduction to questionnaire

To gain a better idea of the audience for my magazine , im creating a questionnaire with a wide range of questions to help me. I will be asking things like favourite genre of music , bands , etc. Also the area that they come from to see if bands are more popular and known in a particular area.

College Magazine Research

For my college magazine , i'm going to make autumn/winter issue , which could include events such as halloween and bonfire night , events which are likely to be attended by a college student. To create my magazine im going to use my own photography of friends taken on the college grounds to give a 'real' look. I will use programmes such as photoshop to manipulate my photos , add fonts and colours to my actual magazine.

This image of lostprophets is a typical photo for their particular genre of music 'alternative rock' they're in what looks to be a run down area perhaps and alley to show the 'hardness' of the genre people tend to avoid alley's but here they're are walking through one. Their dressed in dark clothing some leather to maintain their 'rock' image. The body language as they walk suggests the intensity.

Artist Analysis

Looking at this picture of Sean Smith 'The Blackout' the genre of music that he sings is instantly clear. Alternative Rock is portrayed by the clothing that he wears and also the style of singing he uses as seen in this image , the use of the microphone held in that way emphasises the fact that he is perhaps screaming or yelling into the mircrophone.

Looking at this picture of Jared Leto from 30 Seconds to Mars , instantly we can tell the genre of music he is portraying. The pink mohowk creates a 'punk' style this creates quite a sterotypical image for this genre of music. The shirt looks like a typical 'look' also.

Looking at this picture of Matthew Sanders 'M.Shadows' , we can immedietly tell the genre of music which he belongs to. In this picture he seems to be portrayed as a stereotypical rock singer with the a cut-off top showing his full tattoo arms and backwards hat. Also he has a few known piercings re-inforcing his 'rock' look. His facial expression shows he trying which adds to the seriousness he may feel for his work.

Case Study

Case study

This is my case study of artists which have the genres of music i'm basing my music magazine on. Many of the artists i have researched are withing the 'rock and punk' genre and perhaps many sub-genres of music. Examples of researched artists include Lostprophets , The Blackout , YouMeAtSix , Biffy Clyro , 30 Seconds to Mars , Avengned Sevenfold. I think that these artists are very incluencing in the music that they play , and researching these will help alot in the creation of my magazine.

This is the final picture of the sequence which is a medium long shot of everyone , not including much background. I don't particually like this picture as much as the other ones with backgrounds in , however it is needed to show the completed sequence.

This is the next shot in the sequence as you can see it's not a long shot. The camera is getting closer each time towards the people which gives the effect of them moving towards the camera. I think that this shot works as it has equal background either side of the framing which gives the picture a more proffesional feel.

This is the photo once they have reached the arch , once again the framing of the picture is equally spaced which looks good when there stood at a distance , if i were to edit this photo i would change the lighing especially the contrast of the photo , to make the peolple more viewable.

I really like this image as everyone is walking the same way at the same time , also that the framing is equal either side of the photo. The photo is contrasted as the clothing the girls are wearing is brighter than the old styled walls of the building.
